John Culbertson is a co-owner and director of Dance Attack studio in Miami, Florida. He was previously friends with Abby, but was brought in by Cathy as her own guest choreographer.

In Dance Moms

• In the third season, he choreographed the group dance "Machine Lines" for Candy Apple's Dance Center, in the episode Watch Your Back, Mack.
• He returned as the CADC guest choreographer in the fourth season episode Kiss or Get Off the Pot, causing faces of severe shock by Jill and Melissa. He hugged Abby at the competition, but Abby said that she was "livid," adding, "He better never cross my path again."
• He continued as the CADC's guest choreographer in The Understudies.

Trivia

• Gino Cosculluela and Kevin Cosculluela came onto the show from John's studio, Dance Attack. The former dancer performed in "Machine Lines," which John had choreographed. Alyssa Chi and Evan Gorbell are also from Dance Attack.
• After filming Season 4, Abby posted a picture of her arm around John on Instagram, with the text: "My dear friend @johnnyculbertson from Dance Attack in Miami - so great to see you!"^[2]
