Kira Girard (née Salazar)[5] is the mother of Kalani Hilliker. She has appeared on Dance Moms and Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition.
In Dance Moms
Early in her time on the fourth season, Kira desperately wanted Kalani to go up against Maddie, but Abby showed no fondness for the idea.
Kira and her daughter left the show following the midseason finale of Season 4. Kira emphasized on Twitter that she had a little boy and man at home, and chose family over fame.[6] Kira also spoke to the International Business Times, which reported that she pulled Kalani from the show in response "to a request to sign a seven-year contract in order to stay on Season 4."
In Season 5, Kira and her daughter return with little to no explaination as to the reason behind leaving, a simple "we had some issues and they have been taken care of."

- Her favorite styles of dance to watch are contemporary and lyrical.
- Kira decided to enroll Kalani into dance classes since it was fun and cute to dress her up, never realizing how much her daughter would grow into the dancer she is today.

- In both Wild Wild West Coast, Part 2 and Debbie Allen to the Rescue it was mentioned that Kira has a criminal record for credit card fraud.[8] In May 2016, court documents were leaked- providing further information on Kira's criminal record. It was revealed that Kira had been involved in the crime of fraudulently- scamming people into buying Plasma HDTV’s through eBay.[9] She was faced with two years probation and $5,975 in fines. Her probation was later extended in 2009 after she completed 0 out of 400 hours of community restitution.[10]
- All of Kira's children have different fathers: Matthew Hilliker is Kalani's dad, Jason Girard[11] is Jax's dad and David Newman is the father of Jett and Kaliah.
