Nicholas Ryan[8][2] "Nick" Dobbs is a student at the Abby Lee Dance Company. He first appeared on Dance Moms in the episode Guess Who's Back?, where he performed in the group dance "Twilight" with Maddie, Chloe, and Brooke. He later performed again in the Season 3 episode All's Fair in Love and War.

In late 2013, he left the Abby Lee Dance Company[9]. Following the airing of "Big Trouble in the Big Apple", he tweeted that he could not watch Dance Moms anymore, as it made him sad.

In late 2014, he returned[10] to attending classes at the ALDC and was soon competing again for the studio.

Other information

  • Nick's mom never appeared on Dance Moms as she did not want to be affiliated with the show.[11]
  • Nick has danced since at least the age of six. [12]
  • Nick used to dance at a different studio for four years before he danced at the ALDC.[12]
  • In 2012, Nick was dancing at least fourteen hours of week, but added that dance was all he did even at home.[12]
  • Nick says the biggest misconception about the people on the show is that they are really what they seem to be like on the "reality television" program, and that things get exaggerated. He also adds that the girls all love each other, and aren't brats at all.[12] (The anonymous ALDC dancer account @aldcprobz has likewise agreed that the girls are edited for television, in-line with giving them different dramatic roles.[13])
  • Nick said being associated with the show had good and bad points, but overall it was all worth it (2012).[12]
  • His favorite show is Grey's Anatomy.[14]
  • He loves Dunkin' Donuts.[15]
  • His favorite color is blue.[16]
  • He likes every genre of music except country and rock and roll.[17]
  • He has been a fan of Britney Spears[18] and Ariana Grande.[19]
  • Some of the dancers he has admired have been Mollee Gray, Robert Roldan, Travis Wall and Melanie Moore.[12]
  • He says filming the show is fun, but often boring waiting for filming to begin.[12]
  • In September 2012, he, Maddie and Mackenzie visited a children's hospital and danced for patients, as well as a signed autographs afterwards.
  • He would like to live in Washington or Boston.[20]
