"Return of the Minis" is the twenty-fifth episode of the sixth season of Dance Moms. It first aired September 20, 2016.
Synopsis
The minis are back for the first time this season and the elites question if Abby can hold true to her promise of new beginnings. Abby challenges the minis with a beauty pageant-themed dance where she will crown one mini queen of the routine. The elites perform a tribute to Prince but feel the pressure to do him justice and fear they will fail to win with another tribute dance. To add to the chaos, Abby assigns two duets: JoJo and Brynn vs. Kendall and Nia. When Nia falls ill, Kendall is once again left without a partner.[1]

- Lilliana Ketchman was added to the mini team this week.
- The group dance was a tribute to American musician Prince, who died the week before the competition.
- During the week, Abby had knee surgery. She stated that she needed surgery for quite some time but kept putting her students and the show before her own health.[3]
- Kendall and Nia were initially assigned a duet at pyramid entitled "Telephone", with the girls portraying Lady Gaga and Beyonce respectively. However, Nia pulled out a few days before the competition due to strep throat.
- The girls worked on a dance video to Meghan Trainor's "Me Too" alongside Cutting Edge Dance Center and other ALDC LA dancers during the week.
- During the week, Abby had the mini team compete for who would take the crown in the group dance. Areana was eventually chosen on the day of the competition.
- April 25: Abby attended West Coast Dance Explosion in Long Beach, CA with her ALDC LA students.
- April 26: Kalani had a photoshoot with Bonnie Nichoalds.
- April 26: Brynn was on set filming for Ellen.
- April 28: The Ellen DeGeneres Show episode featuring Brynn as part of DancerPalooza! aired. (Video)
