The seventh season of Dance Moms premiered November 29, 2016 on Lifetime and concluded on October 24, 2017.
Synopsis
It's time for a change and this fall, “Dance Moms” is all about new beginnings. Opening a second studio and losing her star student, Abby’s life has been full of challenges. But that chapter has closed and it’s definitely time for a change. Abby is focused on making sure that her studio is thriving, as she searches for her next Maddie while nurturing her ALDC Junior Elite girls to become stars. Plus this season, Abby’s next generation of dancers – the Mini Elite Team – is full of promise and could put ALDC back on track to reclaim the National Title.[1]

- It was announced on September 14 that Cathy Nesbitt-Stein would be back this season following her absence in the previous season.
- This season had the longest mid-season hiatus, with the second half airing six months after the first half concluded.
- This season had the lowest viewing average (0.90 million on average) until Season 8 broke its record with an average of 0.73 million viewers per episode.
- This is the final season to feature Ashlee Allen and Brynn Rumfallo, Camille and Camryn Bridges, Christi and Chloe Lukasiak, Kira Girard and Kalani Hilliker, Jill and Kendall Vertes, and Holly Hatcher-Frazier and Nia Frazier.
- Cathy Nesbitt-Stein said that she would be back on Season 7B of Dance Moms. However, that did not happen.
