"Sister Showdown" is the twelfth episode of the fourth season of Dance Moms. It first aired on March 18, 2014.
Synopsis
Mackenzie performs one of Maddie's old signature-solos, in her first competition against her own sister; Payton struggles to perform a challenging number; Christi considers homeschool for Chloe.

- Payton's group dance costume top was also used for her off-show solo "Serial Killer" in 2014.
- Whilst the bottom row of pictures were being unveiled, Nia was addressed first, and Payton later; and Nia's picture was to the right of Payton's. But when Chloe's picture was revealed, the top of Payton's picture could be seen to the right of Nia's; and similarly, Payton's picture was to Nia's right again when Maddie's picture was uncovered.
- The group dance was inspired by the movie and Tony Award winning musical Kinky Boots.
- The costumes for "Looking For a Place Called Home", "Every Little Step" and "Don't Leave Me" could be seen when Abby and the Zieglers were looking through Maddie's old solo costumes to find one for Mackenzie.[1]
- Maddie's solo was choreographed by Matt Saffron.[2]
